Club 85 presents...
October JazzUp! at Club85
Boy oh boy do we have a treat for you! We here at Club 85 are pleased to announce that you'll have an oppurtunity to attend an exclusive screening of the jazz film everyone is talking about: ‘A Man In A Hurry’ - A film by Mark Baxter and Lee Cogswell
WE STROGNLY ADVISE BOOKING TICKETS IN ADVANCE.
Advance tickets available soon from WeGotTickets.
A professional jazz musician at just 15, by his untimely death at 38, Edward 'Tubby' Hayes had left behind a body of work which has both stood the test of time and has proven to be an inspiration to many like-minded musicians today. Narrated by Martin Freeman and executive produced by Paul Weller, the film features rare performance footage and exclusive interviews with broadcaster Robert Elms, artist Sir Peter Blake, legendary drummer Spike Wells, Tubby Hayes' biographer Simon Spillett and many more. 'A Man in a Hurry' will take you on the journey of the fast life of The Little Giant.
As if that wasn't amazing enough, the film will be followed by a unique Q&A session with producer Mark Baxter
On top of all that- you lucky devils you- you're then guaranteed a blistering performance by The Simon Spillet Quartet, with pianist David Ferris, bassist Stuart Barker and drummer Mark Hale, fresh from their recent success at Ronnie Scotts!
'Those of us who have caught him...have been left blinking in disbelief. It's not just his mastery of the tenor saxophone, phenomenal though that is, but the absolute conviction of his playing that is so impressive.' DAVE GELLY, SUNDAY OBSERVER
